LaTeX Stuff: Download for Windows or for Mac. Here is a very useful LaTeX tutorial and syntax file. ReVTeX4 info site: a template/style used by APS journals.
Useful/Interesting Links
Below is a load of links that I have found over the years, some of more use than others!
- Dilbert: A funny little online-comic thingy about office life.
- GnuPlot: Some very useful & professional & free graphing software.
- HyperPhysics: A very good site for getting general information on stuff.
- Intute: Online database for finding decent quality physics resources.
- Hydrogenic Wavefunction Plotter: Use this applet to visualise electron wavefunctions/probability distributions around hydrogen.
- Sean Carroll: Lecture notes on general relativity. This is a "paper" on the preprint server arXiv; a very comprehensive & complicated set of notes. Well worth a read.
- LaTeX: This is the download site for the free type-setting software LaTeX. I have used this on various reports & typed-up-notes; it makes everything look really professional, but may take a little time to get used to.
- LaTeX syntax: A file I have found really useful, to look up syntax.
- LeeAbbeyCamps: The website for an amazing Christian Youth Camp.
- PorlHews: This is a past-UoM-physics-students version of my site: its got course summaries, but worded differently. I find his site very useful.
- David Brett: Lecture notes. A current UoM student. His notes are more relevant than mine, as he is in the year below me.
- Student Services: The UoM online student services portal login site.
- TeachWeb: The UoM physics online teaching resource.
- Visual Studio: Download the free version of the Microsoft development enviroment. I use this to code in C++ loads... it is cracking software!
